Will it occur?
Is it more than a dream?
I wish it were
But nothing’s as it seems
I’m so sick of the good ones out there
They have it all so I will not fight fair
Finally make them listen to me
My heart screams
Is this a town?
Or just my terrarium for all to look down?
I’m a non sequitur
I do not compute
Wanna tell the world
But my soul is a mute
Maybe someday I’ll break out of this cage
Wander the earth and pretend I’m a sage
I feel I’m less than nothing
I can see it in their eyes.
But I’ll be something, more than nothing
Soar through the skies.

This seems cool man! Underdogs gonna fight back!
Well, but, I think you were trying to work out too much about the rhyming scheme ..
The last four lines seemed somewhat off..
Maybe someday I’ll break out of this cage
Wander the earth and pretend I’m a sage
Well, I felt that based on a poem on how he/she’s fighting back, the word ‘sage’ doesn’t suit it…
That’s what I felt!

This poem is just…well, let me put it this way: I don’t believe anything can ever be perfect, and yet perfection was the word that came to mind when I finished reading this. The funny thing is that I notice it’s tagged “amateur poetry,” but it amateur is not an adjective that I would apply to this poem. 🙂

I’ve told like three people this today but I really am only confident about my novel and my stories, not so much about my poetry. But I appreciate you so much for enjoying this one!

That’s okay! Ah, I pretty much hate everything I’ve ever written and I ignore all of that kind of thing anyway, so I can’t really say much to that… But I like your words, and that’s the important thing 🙂
